Hereby advertises a position as
PhD student in Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry
formally based at the Chemistry division of the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Duties
Your research will be focused on atomic layer deposition (ALD) and characterization of thin films of AlN, GaN, InN and their alloys for use in electronic components for e.g. high frequency electronics. You will work with both thermal and plasma activated ALD using both commercially available and in house developed precursor molecules. You will spend part of your time to synthesis of new precursors but your main focus will be ALD.
As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited devoted to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time.
Qualifications
A suitable background is a MSc in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science. Previous experience with thin film deposition in general and with ALD in particular is considered a strong merit as is experience in chemical synthesis under water and oxygen free conditions.
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies.
Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A doctoral student may not be employed during a period exceeding eight years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of four years´ full time research training.

Earliest May 15, 2017

The salary for PhD students is based on the department’s salary scale.
