PhD student in environmental organic chemistry focusing on Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) of organic micropollutants in aquatic ecosystems
Description:
We are seeking for a PhD student who will develop a new conceptual environmental risk assessment (ERA) framework, where effect-directed analysis (EDA) and a quantitative Adverse Outcome Pathway (qAOP) approach are combined, and with the aim of being used in science as well as for regulatory purposes. The new ERA concept will be validated using data for endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), and ERA case studies will be performed on EDCs in the aquatic ecosystem. The duties of the PhD student also include data analysis and processing, statistical evaluation and scientific manuscript writing in English. The PhD student will collaborate with national and international stakeholders (from academia and regulatory authorities) within the European Partnership on the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals. The successful candidate will work in an international, interdisciplinary team consisting of several senior researchers and PhD students focusing on environmental organic chemistry (www.slu.se/en/ew-cv/lutz-ahrens).
