PhD student in Medical science
formally based at the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV).
Duties
As a PhD student you will primarily devote yourself to your research. As a PhD student you are limited to work with education and administration up to 20 percent of full time.
We are seeking for two PhD students who both will participate in the project: “Addressing nonsuicidal self-injury by training in schools” but with their own individual study plan.
We aim to investigate underlying transdiagnostic mechanisms which have been identified as core facilitators of nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI). We will also examine the effectiveness of a school-based prevention program to delay the onset and shorten the duration of NSSI, to assess changes in suicidal ideation and behaviors (SSI) linked to NSSI and general improvement in mental health in adolescents.
Qualifications
Qualified to PhD studentships are only those who are or have been admitted to graduate studies.
We are now looking for someone who has a master's degree in psychology, medical science, social work or equivalent. An exam from a psychologist programme is a merit.
Earlier experience of research in medicine or psychology is a merit. Experience of having conducted psychological treatments, as well as experience from working in child- and adolescent psychiatry is also a merit. The employment requires that you can communicate easily in English and Swedish, both orally and in writing.
As a person, you take the initiative for activities and achieve results. You are careful and well aware of goals and quality standards and attach importance to these being met. The work also requires that you enjoy working individually with complex issues and analyzes.
Appointment time
The appointment will be until further notice for a maximum of one year at a time. A doctoral student may not be employed during a period exceeding eight years. The total time of appointment must not exceed the equivalent of four years´ full time research training.
