Hereby advertises a position as PhD student in Perovskite light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
Duties
The PhD candidate will synthesize stable organometal halide perovskites with different bandgaps and fabricate efficient LEDs with different colors. The photo-physics of these novel materials and device physics of these LEDs will also be investigated.
Semiconductors based on organometal halide perovskites have shown great success in photovoltaic applications, demonstrating high power conversion efficiency over 25%. At the same time, they also have a huge potential for the design of functional materials and devices with new properties. For example, they demonstrate strong electroluminescence and tunable emission energy, making them a promising candidate for efficient LEDs.
As a doctoral student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20% of full-time.
Qualifications
You have graduated at Master’s level in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent with a minimum of 240 credits, at least 60 of which must be in advanced courses. Alternatively, you have gained essentially corresponding knowledge in another way.
It is an advantage to have prior experimental experience of what is described in the job description above—especially that related to materials/device development, device physics, and/or spectroscopy.
The applicant shall at the time of recruitment be in the first four years of his/her research career and have not been awarded a doctoral degree. (This time is measured from the date of award/diploma of the most recent taught degree, time spent for teaching is not considered).
The applicant must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Sweden for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the recruitment.
In order to perform in the research environment, the candidate should have oral and written English skills equivalent to IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no subscore below 5.5) or TOEFL iBT 90 (written, minimum 20).
