PhD Student Position in Millimeter/Sub-Millimeter Wave Observations of Ice Clouds
The Satellite Atmospheric Science group at Kiruna Space Campus is looking for a new PhD student.The goal of the PhD project is to develop retrieval algorithms for cloud ice parameters from satellite measurements in the millimeter/sub-millimeter wave spectral range.The position is funded by the Swedish Space Board (Rymdstyrelsen) within the project SUBMIC (http://www.sat.ltu.se/projects/rs_submic/ ).
To apply, you must have a good or excellent Master or equivalent degree.You should also have traceable experience in atmospheric science and remote sensing, as well as a good background in physics and mathematics.Furthermore, you should have good English skills and good computer skills, including some programming experience.Swedish skills will be considered an additional bonus.You should be capable of independent, original, and creative research work, but at the same time be a good team player.Female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply, since we are aiming to increase the fraction of women in the group.We value diversity, so candidates belonging to minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.
