PhD Student position in Computer Aided Design, Simulation of Support System Availability, 1308-10

Coupled Process and Product Modeling for Increased Availability

The aim for this project is to develop new methods and tools for simulation driven design pertaining to support system availability.


You will work with coupling simulation of support systems with simulation of hardware product performance to increase product availability.The main focus will be on support system availability.Your research will contribute to new methodologies for how the partner companies may use simulations in their product development processes.

QualificationsDue to required participation in the divisions teaching activities, applicants with previous experience from team based product development courses are preferred.Previous training in Computer Aided Design (CAD) is preferred.

The applicant shall hold a Master of Science degree (Swedish: Civilingenjör) in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering.The applicant should be well versed in English as well as the Swedish languages.Due to planned case studies, the applicant should be well versed in energy system analysis of plants such as for example paper mills, where hydraulic drives are sometimes used.
