Arbetsbeskrivning
The successful candidate will work in a new MISTRA research programme on electrification. The aim of the programme is to demonstrate how today’s energy system can be transformed to meet climate targets in a cost-efficient, socially acceptable and feasible way that provides economic benefits with a fair economic distribution in society.
Information about the research
The position on offer will join a team of senior researchers, postdocs and PhD students dedicated to research aimed at identifying and evaluating pathways towards sustainable Swedish and European energy systems. The focus of this position is to identify pathways that are not only cost-efficient but also feasible from a social and political perspective. Techno-economic models developed within the research group will be used as a starting point for the work. The work will further develop and apply these models in order to evaluate pathways for the electricity system which comply with climate targets. The modeling will take into account potential social and political barriers of the pathways by means of cooperation with other research groups, literature reviews and stakeholder workshops. This in order to understand what governs the overall feasibility of the pathways.
Results from the project is intended to support Swedish and European decision makers in understanding barriers and opportunities in the transition of the energy system.
