Ph.D.Student Positions in the Drug Discovery Graduate School (Finland) Several Ph.D.student positions are open in the Drug Discovery Graduate School (DDGS) in Finland for the period 1.1.2010 - 31.12.2013.Funding will be provided on a part-time basis (6 months per year); twelve (12) part-time positions are now available.DDGS is a network-type graduate school that includes 34 research groups from the Universities of Turku, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Oulu and Tampere, Åbo Akademi University, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and three drug discovery companies.DDGS provides research training for graduate students in medicine, biosciences and pharmacy.Its aim is to support doctoral training in high-quality research groups working in the field of drug discovery and to help the students understand the various phases of drug development.General Ph.D.education will be organized in coordination with FinPharmaNet and other graduate schools (see http://finpharmanet.utu.fi).Applicants should be affiliated with one of the participating research groups and submit the following documents in ten (10) copies: application, research plan (max.10 pages; for instructions see http://ddgs.utu.fi), study plan, CV, list of publications, statement of the senior supervisor on the project and on additional funding, to arrive by September 18th, 2009, 4 p.m.Applications should be sent to DDGS, Coordinator Eeva Valve, University of Turku, Institute of Biomedicine, Department of Pharmacology, Drug Development and Therapeutics, FI-20014 University of Turku, Finland.Applications will not be returned.For more information on the activities of DDGS and on the associated research groups, visit the DDGS homepage at http://ddgs.utu.fi or contact prof.Mika Scheinin (Director of DDGS; tel.Eeva Valve (Coordinator; tel.
