PhD studentship, Carbon-Templated Grain Magnetic

Studentship in experimental condensed matter physics is available in the division of physics at the Department of Physics of Umeå University, Sweden.The goal of this research is to study the exchange and magnetostatic interactions between the grains in jasananostructures, to understand the physics of ultrasmall magnetic structures, their implications for the limits of magnetic data storage.The appointment is for 4 years.We are looking for a person with a very good background in condensed matter physics, with emphasis in and a strong interest in nanophysics.Good computational and programming skills are advantageous.The candidate should have a solid command of the English language.Qualifications: Masters in physics or equivalent.Other qualification requirements are stated in "The Swedish Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 1998:80), Chapter 9".Applications will be discarded or, if the applicant so wishes, returned two years after the position has been filled.Documents sent electronically should be in MS Word or PDF format.Your complete application, marked with reference number 313-660-08, should be sent to the Registrar, Umeå University, SE-901 87 Umeå, Sweden to arrive February 25, 2008 at the latest.We look forward to receiving your application!
