Do you want to see new biobased materials take the step from lab to commercial scale? Are you also convinced that piloting new production processes will be essential for innovative materials to reach the market? Then join us in our effort to contribute to a more sustainable future for packaging.
We are now building a pilot for production of a lightweight wood fiber-based foam material for protection and cushioning in packaging. The pilot will be located within Fors mill in Sweden. We are looking for the Pilot Plant Manager who will be part of the implementation of the pilot, recruit the pilot team and lead the operations when the pilot is operational.
The Biomaterials innovation organisation focuses on identifying business opportunities and developing new products in markets for renewable materials and bio-based chemicals. Our aim is to work closely with our customers to understand their strategies and devise solutions to support and boost their competitive advantage. For new material to become reality new production processes also needs to be established. After years of material development in lab-scale pilot volumes are key to validate new materials in customer applications. Learnings from the pilot process will build the business case needed to initiate scale-up to commercial production.

During the pilot implementation phase, you recruit and train the operational team of 3 to 5 persons and once production is up and running, you will manage the team and the operations.
In this role, you will be planning and running the daily operations together with the pilot team and work in close collaboration with the Biofoams team within Biomaterials Innovation in Stockholm.

Since you will be leading the operational team, you are expected to have demonstrated good people management skills and have, for example, supervisory experience of a production team or other experience from a leading role. You also have the ability to constructively interact with colleagues within the company as well as with external contractors.
This is a first pilot for a brand-new material and hence the production process is also new to the world. It is essential that you show critical analytical thinking and enjoy hands on problem solving. You are flexible to handle and lead both projects and ad hoc challenges.
