Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to Civil Rights Defenders

About the role
The Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for providing support to develop and ensure efficient, effective, uniformed and aligned processes, procedures and systems for planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning of Civil Rights Defenders. The PME Officer functions as an advisory support to the organisation on areas related to planning, monitoring, learning and evaluation. The PME Officer supports and facilitates learning and exchange throughout the organisation to help guide Civil Rights Defenders in line with its strategy.

As PME Officer you will report to the Head of Method Unit.

The role offers great variety, including work tasks such as:

- Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (PMEL) processes, frameworks and methods.

- Results Based Management (RBM).

- Strategic PMEL and RBM at organisational level.

- Organisational capacity building and internal learning on PMEL/RBM.

- Networking, learning and exchange on PMEL.

- Strategic results reporting at various levels.

To be suitable for this role you have:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations or similar
- At least 3 years of previous experience from developing/designing organisational strategic PME and learning systems/framework, methods, procedures, or guidelines in an international organisation.

- Experience from working in an international organisation.
- Experience with results-based management.
- Good understanding of development cooperation in general and Sweden’s support to civil society in particular.
- Good knowledge in rights-based approach to development, as well as gender, environment and conflict sensitivity.
- Good understanding of the principles of aid and development effectiveness.
- Basic skills in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word).


Experience in working in different geographic contexts is highly preferable as well as knowledge in international standards on human rights, gender, environment and conflict.

About the employment
This is a full-time permanent employment with 6 months probationary employment, starting in January 2024 or according to an agreement.
