Plant Buyer

As Plant Buyer you will manage the supply base for assigned commodity on a daily basis for the Swedish Purchasing & Supplier Management organization (P&SM).
The job has a broad network including contacts within Research & Development Department, Manufacturing, Volvo CE Purchasing, Volvo Group and naturally also our suppliers.

Core Responsibilities
-Responsible for a purchasing portfolio for direct purchased material in running production.
-Manage the relationship with suppliers in cooperation with other site functions.
-Perform portfolio related activities like: negotiations in line with the sub-commodity strategy and optimizing the total cost (quality-, logistics- and manufacturing costs etc.).
-Participating and contributing to reach the P&SM key performance indicators (KPI) and targets.
-Collaboration with P&SM Project Buyers, Commodity Buyers, Supplier -Development Engineers, etc.
-Be a part of the product maintenance team regarding product modifications and cost rationalisations.

-Commercial and technical background.
-Business mind-set and holistic view.
-Knowledge of up to date supply chain strategies and implementation tools.
-Fluent English and Swedish.

Education
University degree is considered a plus, but an equivalent or otherwise relevant experience will be considered sufficient.
