We are looking for a Plants and Civil Lead Engineer to drive Offshore and Onshore HVDC Stations in HVDC. You have a lead role and motivate your engineering team and act as a problem solver. Your main task will be to have an overall understanding and responsibility of the Plants and civil engineering scope, technical solutions and/or Offshore wind scope towards the platform supplier.
You will work with a broad network and interact daily with different areas, not only your closest engineering team, but also with interface teams such as project engineering, civil construction, system engineering, control and protection, supply and for offshore also with the offshore platform supplier.
The work can require some travel to meet customers as well as to project sites that will deepen your technical competence. Our projects are all over the world. You can be part of our tenders with duration of a few months to a couple of years until we receive the contract for the execution project. Typical project durations are three to five years and includes all the way from design to support for installation and commissioning.
You will be part of the Plants and Civil Engineering organization in HVDC, Hitachi Energy, Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden. Your responsibilities
Taking lead for tender or project deliverables and represent the Plants and civil engineering internally and externally
Having overall technical understanding and responsibility of the Plants and civil technical solution for either HVDC land station or offshore platform
Ensure we get a good overall solution, in close collaboration with the design teams
Responsible together with your team to deliver the technical tender work or project deliverables on time and with right quality
Technical coordination with Plants own departments; Electromechanical design (overall HVDC station design of placement of equipment in CAD layouts), Station auxiliary power (incl cables between HVDC equipment, auxiliary transformers, diesels, batteries etc.), Civil design and auxiliary systems (incl fire system, climate system, security system etc.)
Or for offshore wind technical interface towards the offshore platform supplier and handle the platform specific tasks according to scope of work towards the Platform supplier and coordinate internal and external interfaces within engineering related to this
Leading the team and making sure we follow processes, control changes, handling risks & deviations and follow up on progress
Contribute to the team’s improvement projects and maintenance of own deliverables
Your background
Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering
Senior work experience with several years within some or several fields: energy field, electrical power, electromechanical design, auxiliary power design or civil design for large projects
Experience of HVDC technology and the design process for HVDC projects, offshore wind connections or from similar business e.g. substations, high voltage products is advantageous
A good Team player
Ability to guide and lead a technical team
Speaking and writing fluently English
Good to have some practical experience from participation in site work, commissioning or testing
