Do you want to work with an app loved by millions of kids around the world? Where the features you create get a lot of attention, and you’ll see the Tiktok-videos just rolling in?
That’s the reality for the people working on Toca Life World. Creating an app that encourages kids’ creativity and imagination results in lots of content all over social media, and instant confirmation of what you create sparks joy in kids’ lives.
In Toca Life World, kids have a live platform for true open-ended play. It’s an ever-expanding app where they can tell any story they like. You will be the one taking it one step further and providing the building blocks they need for anything they could imagine.
This means you'll ideate, prototype, validate the fun and ultimately deliver the features that allow kids to generate their content. The possibilities are endless! But creating new features is not easy. We put a lot of effort and love into what we do, and we believe you will do the same.
What you’ll be doing
As a Play Designer in the Toca Life Features Team you will be at the forefront of new features for the franchise as a whole. You’ll design new features and systems from the kids perspective.
You’ll be in charge of clearly documenting features, systems and flows. You’ll guide the team in day to day development of new functionality and system improvements.
One of the most important parts of your job is to make sure kids’ perspective is maintained in the design of new features and systems. You’ll do this by listening to our user and conducting qualitative testing with kids and their grown ups.
Is this you?
You are an experienced Game Designer (Play Designer) who has worked in cross-functional teams, and has a genuine interest in creating products for kids. You’ve been part of releasing at least one game so far.
You’re able to explain your vision in a way that all stakeholders can understand. You can clearly share and lead this vision with the team, getting everyone on board. You believe that it’s a team effort.
You have experience working with a game engine, we use Unity (you might have used a different one). You’re good at documenting features, systems and flows. As the company language is English, it’s important that you have excellent writing skills in English.
What we’ll be looking for in your portfolio
We would love to get some insight into your previous work to understand your thought process and experience. Help us understand what previous responsibility you’ve had as a designer, what design challenges you’ve faced, the choices you’ve made and why.
