As a craft manager for Player Experience on our Creative Play team you support peers all around the world, managing, nurturing, growing a design team - and your ultimate goal is make sure team members feel safe, included and are moving forward.
This is mainly a people management role but requires facilitation so that the goals of our mixed discipline workgroups can be met and that the team has the best conditions to both develop and drive our roadmap. You will be focused on facilitating team structure, improving communication and helping us set the best conditions to support the iterative journey of building our Creative Play product.
The Player Experience craft focuses on the in world experience - team consisting of designers, technical artists and gameplay engineers. To thrive here you excellent at sharing learnings with others, as well as gathering ideas from the team and synthesizing shared problems and creating and executing solutions.
You will together with Craft Managers in our technology teams and the Chief of Staff - Creative Play work to help drive betterment.
We are looking for you who is a mentor at heart - with leadership experience focused on collaboration, listening, and growth.
Example of responsibilities
- People Manager responsibility for a team of 10
- Recruiting new colleagues & supporting the growth of the team, work with Onboarding & Mentoring in your craft
- Act on feedback from colleagues regarding oneself and team betterment, evolve and improve as a manager of people.
- Together with Player Experience Lead & Production working on connecting long term vision to production roadmap from a talent development pov.
- Together with Product Leads, make sure the thoughts from within your craft and product roadmap are connected, aligned and communicated.
- Work closely with other Craft & People Managers in Creative Play to make sure communication flows between crafts and that we drive improvements where needed.
- Act as a liaison between the craft and production as well as the project leads, highlighting risks regardless of their nature.
- Inspire the workgroup on the future of the Player Experience craft, conferences, meetups & sharing best practices - internally/externally.
- Be a part of the Creative Play Manager forum - helping us scale sustainably.
We would love if you have
- A creative and curious mind passionate about creative experiences
- Manager experience from complex projects, and remote product innovation teams
- Worked with improving communication & cross discipline engagement in an up-scaling environment.
- Proven track record of supporting, guiding and challenging team members as a leader
- Significant product experience - likely in creative leadership, game design or UX
- Project work with a lot of UGC, Modding, or direct user creative contribution
- Professional English communication skills.
- A passion for games & the people that make them successful is a must but a conventional gaming background is not.
