Arbetsbeskrivning
We have an open position for a motivated, self-driven post-doctoral researcher in bioinformatics with applications in infectious diseases and antibiotic resistance. The position will be focused on genomic analysis of antibiotic resistance and virulence and their evolutionary history. The work includes both the development of new data-driven methodologies and the application of existing methodology to new datasets. The position is part of the research platform EDAR (The Environment as a Driver of Antibiotic Resistance) which is a six-year framework project funded by the Swedish Research Council. The position also includes collaborations with researchers from clinical microbiology and the environmental sciences within the Centre for Antibiotic Resistance Research.
Information about the division
At the division of Applied Mathematics and Statistics we conduct research within the theory and implementation of finite element methods, inverse wave propagation problems, stochastic partial differential equations, geometric numerical integration, optimization, biostatistics, spatial modeling, Bayesian inference, high-dimensional data, large-scale computational methods, and bioinformatics. The division is also expanding in the area of AI – Artificial Intelligence. Our department continuously strives to be an attractive employer. Equality and diversity are substantial foundations in all our activities. We work actively to be a parent-friendly organization.
The position is for 24 months and is located in Erik Kristiansson’s research group at the Division of Applied Mathematics and Statistics. The research group is focused on the bioinformatical and statistical analysis of high-dimensional data with applications in the life sciences. The research group has a strong interdisciplinary profile and we are actively collaborating with experimental groups within infectious diseases, molecular diagnostics, environmental sciences, ecology and cancer genomics. Please read more about our recent publications here.
Major responsibilities
