Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management
The Department of Landscape Architecture, Planning and Management is part of the faculty for Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Sciences. Teaching and research responsibilities of the department cover six thematic areas: landscape planning, landscape analysis, governance and management, urban vegetation, cultural heritage, and design of urban landscapes. Teaching and research are multidisciplinary, including the perspectives of the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and technology. Of special concern is the development of action-oriented knowledge about society and sustainable urban environments through studies of planning and design practices. The department’s staff comprises 80 members, active in both teaching and research.
Duties:
The PostDoc position is part of a larger EU funded project (CONEXUS) focusing on strengthening international cooperation on sustainable urbanization by the use of nature-based solutions (NBS), as well as strengthening collaboration between European (EU) countries and Community of Latin American and Caribbean (CELAC) states.
CONEXUS is a consortium of EU and CELAC partners, including research partners, NGO’s and seven large cities. The cities share common challenges of sustainable urbanization and the PostDoc will be part of coordinating the development of local ‘Life-Lab’ partnerships in each of the partner cities. This includes participatory engagement to identify, initiate and co-create NBS interventions locally in Europe and South America.
In addition to being engaged within CONEXUS (50%) the PostDoc will also develop own research in relation to the topic of landscape governance, as well as being engaged in developing and contributing to various educational activities.
