The arena
Discovery Science is a global function within Innovative Medicines in AstraZeneca. Discovery Science supports Innovative Medicine project teams from multifunctional capability centers in Alderley Park, Boston and Mölndal. Discovery Sciences is mainly involved in early lead generation through to the late Lead optimization stage of drug discovery. It is composed of several capabilities where Reagent & Assay Development (RAD) is one among several others such as Screening Sciences and Structure & Biophysics. This position will be placed in the RAD Department where the focus will be on developing and delivering novel science in the genome editing field that can be presented at conferences and published in high impact journals.
The role
AstraZeneca and specifically the Reagent & Assay Development (RAD) group is expanding its precise genome editing capabilities, including ZFN, TALEN and especially CRISPR based genome editing and we have an opportunity for a Post Doc to be part of this team. This role will be in Mölndal, Sweden and we are looking for a technical specialist in the genome editing area to drive novel science, present this work and publish their finding in high impact journals. It is a hands-on lab-based role, with the successful candidate driving their own projects and work whilst working as part of the wider Precise Genome Editing group, working closely with colleagues and collaborators locally and globally. The Post Doc will be working at the forefront of genome editing technology, putting creative and novel ideas into action.

Minimum experience
Ideally should have a Ph. D. degree or corresponding experience in a relevant scientific discipline with relevant experience in a leading academic institution and/or drug discovery.
