Umeå University - with its 29,000 students and over 4,000 employees - is an organisation in constant change and development.The university's researchers carry out excellence within several areas of research, and many of them are among the world's elite.We are one of Sweden's largest providers of education and offer a broad and attractive range of courses and programmes.Our campus constitutes an inspiring environment for everyone that studies and works here.We wish to co-operate with companies and organisations throughout the Umeå region and all over the world.Post-doc position (2 years) on effects of climate changes on the pelagic ecosystem of the Baltic Sea The position is connected to the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science (EMG) but with the main work at Umeå Marine Sciences Centre (UMF), 40 km south of Umeå.EMG has about 170 employees including 50 PhD students.For more information see the department's homepage: www.emg.umu.se/en.UMF is a modern field station with small boats, research vessels, general and special laboratories, aquarium halls and a new indoor mesocosm facility for experimental work (see www.umf.umu.se).Research at UMF is mainly related to the pelagic environment of the Gulf of Bothnia, and long-term monitoring programs of the pelagic and benthic environments support the research.The position will be connected to the EU-funded project MESOAQUA, a scientific network for the advancement of studies of aquatic ecosystems by use of mesocosm facilities.In addition to own research, the position includes practical and organizational work related to different workpackage tasks in the project.Part of the research will be carried out at the other partners' mesocosm facilities.The position will start as soon as possible.To qualify for the position you should have a PhD degree or equivalent, preferably not more than three years old.Your application, in English, must include a short summary (max 1 page) of your previous experience, a short description (max.1 page) of how you could contribute to the research, a curriculum vitae with a list of publications, and names and contact details of three reference persons.Documents sent electronically should be in MS Word or PDF format.We look forward to receiving your application!
