Umeå University - with its 29,000 students and over 4,000 employees - is an organisation in constant change and development.The university's researchers carry out excellence within several areas of research, and many of them are among the world's elite.We are one of Sweden's largest providers of education and offer a broad and attractive range of courses and programmes.Our campus constitutes an inspiring environment for everyone that studies and works here.We wish to co-operate with companies and organisations throughout the Umeå region and all over the world.Post-doc position in Bioinformatics at Computational Life Science Cluster (CLiC) High-throughput profiling of both Arabidopsis and Populus using transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics platforms are used to model and understand important biological processes in plants.This combined profiling approach requires new data infrastructure and integration as well as new computational methods and tools.This research will be conducted in an interdisciplinary environment where bioinformatics and experimental biology are seamlessly integrated to answer important biological questions.Computational Life Science Cluster (CLiC) at Umeå University is part of an ongoing effort to further stimulate and advance computer based modeling, tools and strategies in experimental sciences.Now we need to expand our team with a postdoc to strengthen the critical link to the ongoing strong experimental research at Umeå University. Post-doc (1+1 year) The successful applicant will develop methods to preprocess, integrate, model and visualize combined profiling data.The infrastructure includes existing databases and will require novel development and research, in particular for metabolomics and proteomics data.The candidate will develop data analysis pipelines built on top of these databases.The goal is to develop models that create synergy from integrating data from more than one platform.Qualifications: The post-doc applicant must have a PhD with experience in analyzing high-throughput metabolomics or proteomics data, preferably not more than 3 years old.Excellent skills in written and spoken English are required.Good programming skills are important.Application: Application includes a personal letter, a curriculum vitae with publication list, copies of degree certificates and transcripts of academic records and at least two references, familiar with the applicant's qualifications.
