Post-doc position in Zooplankton Ecology

The Post doc will conduct independent research on marine zooplankton interactions and in particular on trophic cascades. The post doc will be employed within the larger frame work of the BONUS project BAZOOCA (2008-2010), which focuses on trophic cascades in plankton food webs in the Baltic, in particular the importance of jellyfish (see www.bonusportal.org for a project
summary). The post doc will participate in workshops and research cruises of BAZOOCA, however, the main task will be independent research and is not limited to the Baltic. The position is placed at the department of marine ecology- Kristineberg.

We seek a independent, motivated recent PhD (max 3 years from graduation), with solid research experience in experimental, field or theoretical plankton ecology. The applicant should have a strong publication record, and a proven ability to put results in a theoretical frame work.

We expect the person to start the position at the latest July 1, 2009. PhD students that are expected to finish their degree before this date are also welcome to apply. The employment is for 2 years.
