Climate Impact Research Centre (CIRC) is part of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science (EMG), Umeå University, and is situated in Abisko in the municipality of Kiruna.CIRC is involved in research in terrestrial and aquatic ecology and paleolimnology.Our research facilities are within the Abisko Scientific Research station.For more information see the CIRCs homepage: www.emg.umu.se/CIRC/index_eng.html Umeå University, in northern Sweden, is a dynamic university with ca.4,200 employees and more than 28,000 students, of which 1,300 are in PhD programs.The Department of Ecology and Environmental Science at Umeå University, Sweden has about 190 members including 55 PhD students (for more information see the department's homepage: www.emg.umu.se/forskning/index_eng.html Post doc position in Plant recruitment processes in relation to climate change The successful candidate will participate in ongoing research on recruitment processes and invasibility in different vegetation types.The candidate should partly be responsible for an experiment in reproduction, germination and establishment processes along an altitudinal gradient in the area.The results obtained during summer and autumn should be processed and related to the climate gradient and expected migration processes. The post doc positions are planned for a period of one year, starting in early summer 2007. Candidates should have a PhD.Applications should include description of past research accomplishments including a list of publications, curriculum vitae, up to 10 relevant publications, a research plan, and the names of three references, all in 3 copies.
