Duties
We are looking for a post doc for our ongoing research project on antibiotic resistance in digestate from biogas plants. The project is about identifying links between the operation of biogas processes and levels of antibiotic resistance in the digestate, through a combined approach that included both culture and molecular biological analyses. The project is a direct continuation of a previous doctoral student project (https://pub.epsilon.slu.se/26327/). The project includes experimental work with aerobic and anaerobic culturing as well as molecular analyses (qPCR, nanopore and illumina sequencing) as well as bioinformatics data analysis. The project will be carried out at the Department of Molecular Sciences at SLU.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in biology / microbiology as well as documented competence in microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, aerobic and anaerobic cultivation techniques and antibiotic resistance. Knowledge on operation of biogas processes is an advantage for the position. Good ability to communicate orally and writing in English is expected.
