We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist interested in the dynamic field of aquaculture breeding. The successful candidate will conduct research on selectively bred salmonids in Sweden with the main objective of identifying and understanding the genomic mechanisms associated with male fertility in salmonids. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in experiments aiming to improve the selection efficiency of the national Swedish breeding programs of Arctic charr and rainbow trout with the usage of high throughput sequencing derived information.
Duties:
• Construct sequencing libraries for RAD-seq, ddRAD-seq (or similar) and whole genome sequencing from selectively bred salmonids.
• Bioinformatic analysis of high throughput sequencing data.
• Assist with the supervision and training of PhD and MSc students.
• Present main findings in international conferences and prepare scientific manuscripts.
