Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Faculty of Landscape planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Science Post-doctoral Fellows Post-doctoral Opportunities in Insect Chemical Ecology, Ethology and Evolution at SLU, Faculty of Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Science, Alnarp, Sweden Required qualifications: We are seeking highly motivated postdocs to study insect-plant interactions.A research goal of our recently awarded project "Insect Chemical Ecology, Ethology and Evolution - ICE3" is to understand how insects use olfactory signals to recognize their host plants, and how the odour-mediated behavioural response is modulated by short-term and long-term events, from receptor neurons to CNS. Work within this project comprises chemical identification of plant volatiles, insect behavioural analysis, followed by studies of the peripheral and central encoding of the olfactory input.Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D.with a background in insect (behavioural) physiology or plant biochemistry.Applicants should be fluent in spoken and written English.
