Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Faculty of Forest Sciences Department of Forest Products, Uppsala Post doctoral position in wood chemistry 100% SLU develops the understanding and sustainable use of biological natural resources.This is achieved through research, teaching, environmental monitoring and assessment and information extension.SLU has 3 000 employees, 4 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students.Main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Uppsala and Umeå.www.slu.se Duties: A full time post doctoral position is available at the Department of Forest Products.The work concerns protection and modification aspects of solid wood/wood fibers.The successful candidate will join a research team working with synergic combination of biomolecules and organic biocides as wood protecting formulations.Qualifications: The applicants schoul posses a PhD titel in organic chemistry or a related discipline.Background in chemical modification of the main structural wood compounds an knowledge of novel modification techniques will be an asset.Additionally the candidates shold be experienced in analytical methods, e.g.GC, HPLC, diverse spectroscopy techniques, TGA and microscopy.Additional requirements for this position include some peer-review publications, excellent communication and writing skills in English, ability to plan, supervice and carry on laboratory research work in collaboration wid undergraduate, graduate students and co-workers.Industrial and proven international collaboration experience, menagement skills, and knowledge of foreign landuages will be an asset.Form of employment: Temporary employment, The position is initially for two years Starting date By agreement SLU is an equal opportunity employer.Please submit your application to the Registrar of SLU, P.O.
