Welcome to Linnaeus University
Where knowledge grows.
We are an international university in Småland, Sweden. Together we set knowledge in motion for a sustainable societal development.
The Department of Computer Science carries out research in three main subjects: Data intensive software technologies, Information visualization and visual analytics, and Software architecture and self-adaptive systems. The Department is running various national and European projects that focus on both fundamental and applied research. It constitutes the core of the Linnaeus University Centre for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA) that addresses data-driven methods to gain deeper knowledge and understanding in a variety of applications in engineering, science and humanities. Combined with research from application fields, such as astrophysics, engineering, linguistics, social science and eHealth, we create a unique dynamic. The Department runs a graduate school for industrial doctoral students that focuses on applied research, addressing the big data and artificial intelligence challenges of our industry partners. Together with corresponding educational programs on Bachelor’s and Master’s level, most prominently the Master of Science in Engineering, we constitute the complete knowledge environment “Smarter Systems”.
