Postdoc - development of a new Rheo-SAXS sample environment

Arbetsbeskrivning

Project description
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher for the development of a new rheometer system to be integrated as a state-of-the-art Rheo-SAXS sample environment at the MAX IV Laboratory, Lund, Sweden. MAX IV Laboratory is a Swedish national laboratory providing scientists from academia and industry with the brightest X-rays available in the world. Thus, the ambition is to have a sample environment with an international appeal through unique testing possibilities, as well as to support Swedish academic and industrial strengths.

At the end of the developmental project, the goal is to have the rheometer sample environment available for external users at ForMAX and CoSAXS beamlines, to start with. The project is a cooperation between Chalmers and MAX IV and includes personnel across departments/beamlines from both locations.

Contract terms
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of 2 years, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be employed the Division of Engineering Materials, Department of Industrial and Materials Science at Chalmers in Gothenburg, being part of the Rheology Lab, and will work closely with MAX IV in Lund.

Your profile
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field; the degree should generally not be older than three years. The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in physics, materials science or related fields with a strong focus on X-ray scattering. Additional experience with rheometry will be an advantage, however, outstanding candidates looking to develop in the area are also encouraged to apply.

Information about the department
The main competencies at the Department of Industrial and Materials Science are found in the areas of: Human-Technology Interaction | Form and Function | Modeling and Simulation | Product Development | Material | Production and in the interaction between these areas.
