The Department of Built Environment and Energy Technology (BET) will recruit a Post doc. The selected person will join the Sustainable Built Environment Research (SBER) group and will contribute to research and administrative duties within BET and SBER. SBER conducts cutting-edge research linked to sustainable development, especially system analysis studies of bioenergy, building construction, energy efficiency and the interaction between these fields and forestry, and implementation of innovative solutions. The overall goal of the research is to understand how a sustainable built environment based on resource-efficient systems with low environmental impact can be designed, analysed and implemented.
Field of subject for the position: Building Technology, with emphasis on environmental performance of buildings.
Placement: Växjö, Sweden
Extent and period: 100%, 2 years
Context of position:
The post-holder will primarily conduct research on resource- and climate-effective built environment. The main focus is to identify resource-efficient and low-carbon solutions for buildings in terms of design strategies, choice of materials, construction methods, energy supply systems and end-of-life management, providing guidance for stakeholders to optimizing performance of buildings throughout their lifecycle.
Up to 20% time can be dedicated to teaching and other departmental tasks.
Qualification requirements:
The Postdoc position requires a PhD in Building Technology or an equivalent degree in a related field. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the date of the application deadline.
Applicants must not have previously been employed as a postdoctoral fellow for more than a year in the same or related subject area at Linnaeus University.
To be eligible for this position it is also required good knowledge of advanced energy balance simulation programs as VIP+ since that is crucial for fulfilling the duties.

• Experience of working in an international research environment
• Good knowledge of English language
