Postdoc in development of integrated electrochemical capacitors

Postdoc in development of integrated electrochemical capacitors

Arbetsbeskrivning

In this postdoc position at the Micro- and Nanosystems group you will have the opportunity to continue developing your expertise in electrochemical capacitor development. You will be given the trust to take own initiatives and decisions to address the challenges defined within the frames of our role in the collaborative Horizon2020 project GreEnergy.

Information about the department and the division
The Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience (MC2) focuses on research, innovation and education within the fields of future electronics, photonics, bio- and nanosystems. A close collaboration with Swedish and international partners within academy, industry and society enables scientific excellence and creates an innovative environment. In addition to the 200 researchers and PhD students, MC2 houses a cleanroom for micro- and nanofabrication with state-of-the-art equipment.

In the Micro- and Nanosystems group of the Electronics Materials and Systems Laboratory (EML) we conduct research on the preparation of micro- and nanostructured materials in order to realise devices for a broad range of applications. We are currently engaged with energy harvesting and energy storage for intelligent wireless sensors exploiting nanofibrous materials based on carbon, and we also work with micromachined metamaterials for high frequency electronic systems.

Major responsibilities
Your major responsibilities are to develop viable solutions for integrated electrochemical capacitors in a collaborative project funded within the Horizon2020 program (GreEnergy) and to constructively contribute also to other projects undertaken by the Micro- and Nanosystems group. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and communicate the results of your research verbally and in writing. Included in your work is also co-supervision of PhD and master students.

Qualifications
You need to have a PhD degree directly related to electrochemical capacitor fabrication and characterization, with demonstrated experience in conducting research on characterization, fabrication and modelling of electrochemical capacitors, in particular with regards to the electrolyte's behavior concerning stability, including leakage currents, discharging and temperature dependence.

Position summary
