Linnaeus University – where people grow.
Welcome to Linnaeus University where knowledge grows. We are an international university in Småland, Sweden. Together we set knowledge in motion for a sustainable societal development.
The School of Business and Economics is one of five faculties at the Linnaeus University and hosts the subject area of economics. At the Department of Economics and Statistics (https://lnu.se/en/meet-linnaeus-university/Organisation/school-of-business-and-economics/meet-the-school-of-business-and-economics/economics/) there are about 20 active researchers, teachers and PhD students. The Department conducts both empirical and theoretical research in several areas and is particularly strong in microeconomics, econometrics, labor economics, public economics, and computationally intensive methods (e.g. machine learning). Much of the empirical work is done with large and high-quality Swedish register data. Examples of the department’s recent publications can be found here: https://lnu.se/globalassets/feh/organisation/mot-ekonomihogskolan/recent-selected-publications.pdf. Many of the department members are actively engaged in policy work for the government and other organizations.
