Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi (IFM) bedriver grundutbildning, forskarutbildning och forskning inom teknisk fakultet. Totalt har institutionen över 400 anställda och en omsättning på ca 420 miljoner kronor per år. Postdoctor in Energy Materials, Thin Film Physics Division
formally based at IFM
Duties
The Energy Materials group of the Thin Film Physics Division conducts fundamental and application-inspired studies of thin-film materials for energy applications, with emphasis on thermoelectrics and ionic conductors. The present position, funded by an ERC Starting Grant, will involve studies in these areas. The specifics of the position and project will be decided in consensus and adapted to the interests, background, and expertise of the applicant. We collaborate extensively with theoreticians, and depending on the applicant’s interests, the present position may include a theoretical part in guidance and interplay with experiments.
Qualifications
- PhD in materials science, physics, or similar relevant topic.
- Demonstrated publication track record in international peer-reviewed ISI-indexed journals.
- High level of practical and theoretical proficiency in materials synthesis (preferably vacuum-based thin-film deposition) and/or materials characterization (structural/chemical).
- Experience in any of the following is advantageous: other materials characterization (especially relevant property characterization), collaboration with or having worked in industry, theory (DFT), supervision of student projects, e.g., MSc theses, or other pedagogical experience (teaching).
Appointment time
A Postdoctor is appointed until further notice, but for no longer than two years. The appointment can be renewed if there are special reasons.
Starting date
According to agreement.
Salary
The University applies individual salary scales adapted to the experience of the employee and to the labour market.
