Postdoc in environmental economics

Department of Economics
At the Department of Economics, research and teaching are conducted in the subjects economics and business studies. The department has master's and bachelor programs in economics, and a PhD program. Priority areas in economics are 1) environment and natural resources  and 2) agricultural economics. The economics groups are in a period of renewal with two new professors and two new university lecturers.
Duties:
The environmental economics group within the department of economics - see https://www.slu.se/env-econ - is looking for a post-doctoral researcher to boost our research team. The successful applicant will be expected to develop their own research in the area of environmental and resource economics, and to complement the research of the existing group members, working primarily either with Professor Rob Hart on questions related to long-run macroeconomic development and sustainability, or with Associate Professor Shon Ferguson, applying microeconometric methods in environmental economics. The position as a postdoctoral researcher implies at least 80% research. 

Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have completed a PhD in economics. Preference will be given to candidates who have been awarded the degree no more than three years before the application deadline. Candidates must have broad competence in economics - micro, macro, and econometrics - and a demonstrated interest in environmental and natural resource economics. Good ability in English is essential. 

In assessing the applications for the position, particular emphasis will be placed on (1) applicants' scientific proficiency in economics, and (2) their ability to develop their own line of research in environmental and natural resource economics, complementing the ongoing research within the group. We will also place emphasis on the applicant's personal characteristics and suitability. Applicants' ability to work constructively in a small group is very important.
