Background

Our society demands companies to improve environmental performance of products through the life cycle such as resource efficiency. On the other hand, companies find business opportunities to do so by e.g. utilising recent advancement of Information Communication Technologies, integrating services with products, and changing business concepts. However, knowledge of how companies could develop and deliver products and services with consideration of both environment and economy is still insufficient and developing the knowledge is an imperative especially for manufacturing firms in Europe.

Research focus

The PostDoc will develop knowledge in the area of product/service development incorporating environmental aspects (e.g. ecodesign). The knowledge to be developed shall advance the scientific state of the art as well as contribute to manufacturers’ competitiveness. The PostDoc will carry out the research in close collaboration with leading companies, both large and SME, as well as with internationally recognized researchers in the area. Duties
A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

Qualifications
The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.

Appointment time
A Postdoc is appointed until further notice, but for no longer than two years. The appointment can be renewed if there are special reasons.

Starting date 
By agreement bud preferably latest 1st of October 2015.

Salary
The University applies individual salary scales adapted to the experience of the employee and to the labour market.
