Arbetsbeskrivning
In this position the candidate is given the possibility to develop novel state-of-the-art components and circuits based on 2D-materials such as Graphene. The work is performed in an internationally well recognized research group with best available resources.
Information about the research
At the Microwave Electronics Laboratory, we focus on application driven research on high speed electronic components, circuits and systems for future communication and remote sensing applications. The research spans frequencies from below 1 GHz to 500 GHz. We demonstrate innovative microwave components and circuits in our own fabrication lab, the Nanofabrication Laboratory at MC2, or at external cooperation partners/foundries. We characterize our components and circuits in our state-of the-art measurement laboratory. Our research are funded mainly by SSF, VR, and KAW, and Vinnova. Due to the high interest in high frequency components based on Graphene, we now open an post doc position for research and development of high frequency integrated circuits based on Graphene transistors. The position cover transistor fabrication, characterization, and development of MMIC-processes based on GFETs on SiC semiinsulating substrates. We cooperate with various academic research groups.
-The details of the departmental research activities may be found here.
Major responsibilities
Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. Also to work in a research project in close cooperation with external partners from institutes, industry and academy, to supervise Master students, and conduct own research on transistor and circuit design, modeling and characterization based on novel Graphene transistor processes, with focus on high frequency analog and mixed signal circuits.
Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).
Qualifications
PhD in Applied Physics or Electrical Engineering, the degree should generally not be older than three years. You also have experience to manage research projects in close cooperation with external partners from academy or industry, to supervise Master-students, and to conduct own research within the area of nanoelectronics with focus on device fabrication and characterization. Experience from cleanroom processing is mandatory.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. Swedish is not a requirement but Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
