Information about the project
This project aims towards developing an automatized workflow to identify optimization potentials in renovation planning of existing buildings. Using machine learning and only remotely available data, the models of the existing buildings are generated. Then, the optimal renovation measures are identified with regards to life cycle GHG emissions and costs. Finally, the project supports increasing the renovation rate and saving large amounts of GHG emissions. The project will be carried out at the Research Group of Sustainable building at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Major responsibilities
Your major responsibility as a postdoctoral fellow is to pursue your research and lead a work package in the project while being an active member in the research group. This includes developing scientific concepts and communicating research results both verbally and in writing. The position may also include some departmental duties, such as teaching up to a maximum of 20 %. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you need a PhD in architecture, engineering, computer science or other fields relevant to the description of the project. Previous experiences with Life Cycle Assessment and energy simulation of buildings are essential. Furthermore, basic programming skills and experiences with computational optimizers are important. The position requires oral and written communication skills in English. Communication skills in Swedish are also meritorious.
You are expected to take initiatives, work independently when needed and take responsibility for your work. Furthermore, the project interacts closely with adjacent disciplines and industrial partners. Thus you need to have significant collaborative skills.
