The department of Media and Journalism (MJ) conducts research and offers student programs centered around the areas Media Production, Journalism and Media and communication Studies.  Our research profile focuses on issues concerning contemporary changes in the media landscape (both internationally and on the local level) and encompasses areas ranging from media ethics and regulation to the role of regional media, as well as alternative media, media criticism, and sports and gender. Related to media change is the notion of entrepreneurship in the realm of media and communication. The Department of Media and Journalism in Kalmar, seeks to strengthen the research environment in media and entrepreneurship and announces 1 postdoctoral position open for scholars with a focus on questions related to media and entrepreneurship and with a disciplinary background in communication studies (Preferably media and communication studies, journalism or media production). Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to conduct research. The applicant is expected to contribute to the development of the department through research and publications, participate in seminars and other activities of the department, and collaborate with other scholars and students within the department.

 A maximum of 20 % of the time is dedicated to teaching and administration. The position is offered for one year fulltime, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

Basic eligibility
To be eligible for the position as Postdoc the applicant must have completed a Ph. D. (or the equivalent) in Media and communication studies, Media Production or Journalism with a focus on media entrepreneurship. The Ph. D. may not be earlier than three years prior to the application deadline. In addition applicants may not previously have held a similar position for more than one year at Linnaeus University.

Additional requirements
It is deemed meritorious to have developed research projects specifically in the area of media entrepreneurship. Experience from interdisciplinary networks is an advantage, as well as international experience. Documented skills in cooperation and teamwork will be valued in the selection process.

Order of priority among criteria
Primary emphasis is placed on the quality of the applicant’s research publications, and on the proposed research project.
