Postdoc in Pain Rehabilitation

Postdoc in Pain Rehabilitation

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for a postdoc to do translational research on novel devices for the treatment of pain along with brain imagining studies to elucidate the working mechanism of the treatments and the condition itself.

Information about the research
Our group developed a novel treatment for phantom limb pain (PLP) using myoelectric pattern recognition (machine learning) for the decoding of motor volition, and virtual and augmented reality for real-time biofeedback. This treatment is now used worldwide. However, we are now further developing technology to fully eliminate pain due to sensorimotor impairments and this position is related to the translational research related to this work, as well as brain imagining studies.

Major responsibilities
Your major responsibility as postdoc is to do literature reviews on devices, treatments, and epidemiology of pain. You will develop and test medical devices, design and implement clinical trials and also design and conduct brain imagining studies.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, psychology, or related fields. The degree should generally not be older than three years. You are expected to demonstrate good potential within research, study design and education.

The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. Swedish is not a requirement but Chalmers offers Swedish courses.

Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).

Chalmers continuously strives to be an attractive employer. Equality and diversity are substantial foundations in all activities at Chalmers.
