Resilient Production
What does it take to make industry resilient and sustainable? Join Chalmers' Division of Production Systems for a Postdoc to change the way we think. This position is a great opportunity for a highly motivated candidate who has recently completed a PhD degree. You will join a professional, diverse, and friendly team of excellent researchers at Chalmers University of Technology, working on national and international top level research together with industry.

Chalmers is a leading university in industrial digitalization for sustainable and competitive manufacturing. Chalmers' Division of Production Systems is a young and growing team of around 30 cross-disciplinary researchers, teachers, Postdocs, PhD candidates, and support staff. The Division has a good gender balance and high diversity.
We engage in research, education, and innovation; nationally and internationally. We collaborate closely with industry in design, deployment, operation, and maintenance of future industrial production systems. Our advanced research labs for industrial digitalization, e.g. Stena Industry Innovation Lab, enable deep involvement in international projects.
Production Systems is one of six divisions within the Department of Industrial and Materials Science (IMS). Other divisions are: Design & Human Factors; Product Development; Material & Computational Mechanics; Engineering Materials; Materials and Manufacture. Chalmers is a private university with strong entrepreneurial innovation and startup support.
Your responsibilities
Rapidly emerging environmental, geopolitical, and technical challenges radically increases needs for industrial resilience. As a Postdoc in our team, you will focus on Production Resilience and its impacts on environmental, social, and economic sustainability. You will work in close collaboration with industry, developing, theory, methods, and tools for future resilient production.
As a Chalmers Postdoc you are expected to continuously expand your network and field of expertise, in close collaboration with international research communities and the three research groups within the division. Our experienced research leaders and mentors will train you for a future research leadership position in academia or industry, in Sweden and internationally.
Your qualifications
We expect you to become a skilled, creative Postdoc with strong motivation; a cooperative mindset; analytical skills, communication skills; and a passion for combining scientific theory with application. You should be quality conscious, ethical, and have ambitions to take on responsibility, working independently and in collaboration with both academic and industrial partners towards set goals.
The position require full proficiency in English. You should acquire Swedish proficiency within 2 years. Chalmers provides English courses. Experience from multi-stakeholder interactions and industry experience are meritorious.
Mandatory qualifications
• A PhD degree in a relevant field of research.
• Your PhD thesis should be related to advanced industrial research and development and targeted towards multiple forms of sustainability, including methods for assessments in industry.
Meritorious qualifications
• Training and experience from resilience and sustainability, targeting manufacturing industry.
• Background and research experience within industrial, mechanical, energy, environmental, digital/electrical or similar engineering fields are prioritized.
• Documented experience from research projects performed in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
