Postdoc in Sustainable consumption

This post-doc position would allow the successful candidate to make key contributions to the field of sustainable consumption. The project focuses on the net effects (in terms of greenhouse gas emissions) from sustainable consumption practices and the size of different so called second order effects (such as rebound effects, moral licensing, spillover etc.). The project also provides the opportunity to conduct experimental research in a large natural field experiment where different motivational and engagement strategies can be evaluated using actual consumption data.

Information about the division
The division of Physical Resource Theory carries out research and education about potential solutions to our major environmental challenges, e.g. global warming and sustainable use of land and other resources. The division focuses on research in the field of technical and socio-economic systems addressing the challenges involved in the transition into a sustainable and low carbon society for a growing population, where a range of different quantitative and qualitative methods can be applied on our research topics. The ambition is to build challenge-driven scientific excellence by crossing traditional boundaries and increase the level of multi-disciplinarity in research. The division has around 50 staff members, faculty and PhD-students with diverse expertise, including engineers, natural and social scientists. We also offer courses in areas related to our research.

The postdoc will work primarily within the research program Mistra Sustainable Consumption.

Major responsibilities
The postdoc will be responsible for contributing actively to the ongoing research on beneficial consumption practices, ensuring data quality of Greenhouse gas estimates, assisting a PhD student in writing research articles, and in the second area involving experimental research the postdoc would be responsible for developing a robust experimental design, solving practical issues related to surveying, taking full responsibility for describing results in research articles.

Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to one year but with a possibility of one year extension.

Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in a topic related to sustainable consumption and experience in quantitative research methods and analyses of greenhouse gas emissions from consumption patterns. The degree should generally not be older than three years. 

More specific experience from the development and utilization of ICT-tools to measure GHG emissions from consumption is an additional merit.
