Department of Economics
At the Department of Economics, research and teaching are conducted in the subjects economics and business studies. The department has master's and bachelor programs in economics, and a PhD program. Priority areas in economics are 1) environment and natural resources and 2) agricultural economics.
Duties:
The environmental economics group within the department of economics – see https://www.slu.se/env-econ – is looking for a post-doctoral researcher to boost our research team. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to an ongoing project – Working from home in the post-pandemic era: Curse or blessing? – studying the impact of remote work on the structure of cities and on the environment. The project is funded by Handelsbanken and coordinated by Associate Professor Efthymia Kyriakopoulou. The position as a postdoctoral researcher implies at least 80 percent research.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants must have completed a PhD in economics, or be expecting to complete their PhD by spring/summer 2022. Applicants should normally have completed their PhD no more than three years before the application deadline. Candidates must have competence in applied microeconomics and urban economics, knowledge of methods used in quantitative urban analysis and interest in conducting research in environmental economics. Experience with spatial modelling techniques using geographic information systems (GIS) and with packages such as STATA, R, MATLAB or PYTHON is advantageous. The ability to work constructively in a small group is essential.
