You will be part of the Communication Systems Group at Chalmers, which is known for its contributions to wireless and optical communication systems. The group has about 40 members from all over the world. The working language at Chalmers in English.

Your role in the project is to lead the research activities on machine learning to adapt communication to the time-varying harsh environment (e.g., extreme temperature variations). For this you will work closely with researchers from embedded system and hardware design as well the researchers working the optical systems. There exist also opportunity to interact with the industry-partners involved in the project.

The position is for 2 years, with the possibility to extend, depending on your performance and the available funding. You will receive a competitive salary with social benefits and pension.

Major responsibilities
In this project, you will lead and perform cutting-edge research on machine learning for physical layer communication in time-varying and harsh environments. You are expected to publish high-quality high-impact papers, work with PhD students and other senior researchers in the team. In particular, you are expected to process experimental data and support experiment design, in order to validate your research. You will also gain knowledge in proposal writing and there are opportunities for teaching.

The position also includes teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large.
