Information about the research
At Chalmers we have several research projects targeted towards hardware for future mobile communication systems. These systems will work at higher carrier frequencies and significantly wider modulation bandwidths than today. This put new demands on both measurement systems for component characterization as well as semiconductor technologies for use in the microwave circuits. There is a need to develop new measurement systems as well as characterize and model microwave components using wideband measurement systems at high carrier frequencies.
We have projects on developing wideband nonlinear measurement systems aimed at these new demanding requirements. Systems that are not yet commercially available from the instrumentation manufacturers.
Furthermore, we have in-house semiconductor technology development aimed at enabling circuits fulfilling the demands of future mobile communication systems in terms e.g. efficiency and linearity.
Major responsibilities
Your main research responsibility will be on the topic nonlinear characterization and modeling of microwave components. This will include developing new characterization techniques, as well as measurement systems. The modeling activity includes components such as transistors, mixers, and amplifiers.
The position will also include supervision of PhD student that work within your area of expertise.
You will work in one or more projects targeted towards future mobile communication systems together with several other senior researchers as well as PhD students. You will work in close collaboration with device processing researchers, circuit designers, modeling as well as signal processing experts.
Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree in the area of microwave engineering; the degree should generally not be older than three years.
Chalmers continuously strives to be an attractive employer. Equality and diversity are substantial foundations in all activities at Chalmers.
Application procedure
The application should be marked with Ref 20150242 and written in English. The application should be sent electronically via Chalmers webpage.
Application deadline: August 9, 2015
