Postdoc position in synthesis of materials for organic solar cells

Postdoc position in synthesis of materials for organic solar cells

Arbetsbeskrivning

Information about the research
The research group "Polymer Chemistry and Electronics" led by Prof. Ergang Wang at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is internationally recognized with a focus on the synthesis and characterization of conjugated materials including polymers, small molecules and Graphene-like materials for applications in organic solar cells (OSCs), organic field effect transistors (OFETs), organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and supercapacitors. We have well equipped labs for synthesis and materials characterizations at a world-class level in synthetic chemistry.
The project is mainly about synthesis of conjugated materials/polymers for organic solar cells. Organic solar cells as an emerging technology with the possibility to provide clean energy is one of the keys for a sustainable society. In this project, we need to develop high-performance materials that are processable with green solvents, which will make this technology fully compatible with large scale roll-to-roll process. The related research can be found from our latest publications. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2020, 202005662; Joule 2020, 4, 658; Energy Environ. Sci. 2020, 10.1039/D0EE01828G.

Major responsibilities
Your major responsibility as a postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. The position also includes research-oriented supervision on master and/or PhD students to a certain extent (no regular classroom teaching). The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector. You are expected to develop your own scientific concepts and demonstrate the results of your research verbally and in written form.

Qualifications
To be qualified for the position of postdoc, you must have a doctoral degree or equivalent in Chemistry or Material Science or a relevant field; You are expected to demonstrate good potential within research and education. Your PhD degree should be obtained after 2019-01-01. You can also apply if you will obtain your PhD degree in the coming months. To succeed in this position you also need to be highly motivated, have a problem solving/creative attitude and find pleasure in collaboration with others. Candidates should be very skilful in organic synthesis and structural characterizations. Candidates with experience in the following fields are highly appreciated: organic photovoltaics, photodetectors, organic synthesis, supercapacitors, light-emitting diodes, graphene science.
