Our Exciting Opportunity
Security is an area that is constantly growing in importance, both for Ericsson, and for the society at large. The objective of Ericsson Research Area Security is to provide Ericsson business and development units with security competence, architectures, and solutions for platforms, networks, and services. Our research covers everything from pure cryptography, secure networking, service layer and application security, identity management, privacy, AI/ML security to development of methods for evaluation of security systems.
Ericsson Research is recruiting a postdoc 1-year research position, with possible extension of 1 additional year, to expand its AI/ML & Security Team. The scope of the position is to conduct research in Adversarial Machine learning (AML) and defenses against them. As the AML-area is wide, part of the work consists in conducting a risk-based approach to identify the most relevant AML-threats to mobile systems and find corresponding solutions as well as mitigation measures.

Do you have a strong drive in research and ambitions to extend your international contact network with other colleagues in ML/AI & security?
If the answers are yes, then consider joining our AI/ML & Security Team in Stockholm to conduct research in partnership with academia in EU projects.
You will
Conduct research that will increase the trustworthiness of next generation cellular networks by crafting robust AI/ML models that can deter adversarial attacks specifically targeting AI/ML-assisted systems.
Develop proof-of-concepts or prototypes of secure robust AI/ML-assisted systems based on research outcome
Engage with external researchers at academia and EU projects
Support product development units and partners with secure AI/ML competence and prototypes.
Ability to write research papers, present progress, and results
To be successful in the role you must have
We are looking for person with a PhD degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Computer Engineering, or related fields and has at least 2-3 years’ experience in AI/ML algorithms, risks of AI/ML, good understanding of AI/ML theory and approaches in neural networks, hands-on experience with building AI/ML-assisted applications, proficiency with basic AI/ML libraries (numpy, pandas), frameworks (PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow) and data engineering.
The person is required to feel comfortable coding applications in a Linux cluster environment; work well both independently and as part of a team, exhibit a high degree of scientific skills, very good teamwork, interpersonal skills and proficient in English both in written and oral form, a talent for innovation, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Security knowledge skills is particularly valued
Fundamentals in IP networking technologies
Applications/Domain-knowledge in Telecommunications
Practical experience with risk of AI/ML
