You will be part of Corporate Research in Västerås. We are the largest research center within ABB and have a strong competence in technology development supporting the innovation in both power technology and automation areas for the ABB Group. Our multicultural research center consists of approximately 250 scientists from 45 different countries.
Our target is to develop the foundations for the next generation of ABB products and systems. At the department of Power Technologies we work with Power Systems, Power Products and Electrical Machines. The group of Electroctechnology and Design is working with research and development on core technology for ABB products such as transformers and transformer components, cable accessories as well as capacitors. Key competences of the group are physics of electric, magnetic and thermal fields, insulation technology, physical modeling and computational simulations, medium and high voltage experiments and measurement technology as well as the design of power products.
Do you want to join and strengthen our team doing research in power transformer technology? You will get the chance to conduct research related to technology for power transformers focusing on improving existing and developing the next generation products for ABB. You will be provided the opportunity to be part of research projects doing research and technology development from idea to implementation in our power transformers.
Required qualifications for the position is a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical Power Engineering, High Voltage Technology or similar. Experience in power transformers, both experimentally and theoretically. Moreover, you are a proactive and solution oriented person who delivers in a timely and efficient manner. You contribute with your ability to communicate in a multidisciplinary environment.
