Arbetsbeskrivning
Would you like scientific freedom and ample opportunities within a long-term project and scientific prosperous environment? Within the realm of the PI Patrik Johansson's unique Distinguished Professor Grant from the Swedish Research Council, lasting for 10 years, there are now several fully paid postdoc positions available. These cover both computational and experimental approaches towards R&D of Next Generation Batteries. Please see more below about the exact topics!
Information about the project
With a perspective of next generation batteries - with a horizon of 2030+ - and of both academic and industrial interest, we now look for several postdocs.
More specifically, we want to recruit within these topics:
- Modelling of solvent-free electrolytes, with e.g. background of MC/MD modelling of ionic liquids
- Electrochemistry and battery testing of conceptually novel electrolytes incl. multivalent systems and for SIBs
- Data/AI/ML/MSM approaches to be applied to (molecular level) models for battery electrolytes
- IR and Raman spectroscopy applied to batteries
Please take care to specify what postdoc position you apply for. Each one of these positions has connections to national (BASE) and/or international networks (Alistore-ERI, DESTINY, Battery 2030+, BIG-MAP, etc.).
Major responsibilities
You will be a part of the division of Materials Physics at the department of Physics at Chalmers University of Technology. The major part of your time will be devoted to your research project, where you will be expected to plan, perform and disseminate your work in small and large collaborative constellations.
Supervision of BSc, MSc, and PhD students can be a part of the work. You will also be responsible for some common activities within the division and/or the research group (today ca. 40/12 persons).
Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent. The degree must be awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers).
You should have extensive experience of the techniques relevant for the postdoc position you apply for (please specify), and very good communication and collaborative skills. Excellent oral and written reporting in English internally and to other members of the project as well as at international conferences and in scientific journals of high repute is all expected.
Swedish is not a requirement but Chalmers offers Swedish courses.
Contract terms
These postdoc positions are full-time temporary employments for two years.
