Research at the department is organized in groups of scientists and trainees. Excellent research in Cognitive Hearing Science takes place at Linnaeus Centre HEAD which is part of the Swedish Institute for Disability Research, a collaboration with Örebro University and Jönköping University. The core of HEAD research consists of multidisciplinary research teams with professors, postdoctors and PhD students as well as national and international collaborators.
The Department is responsible for teaching degree courses in Education, Human Resources, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Psychotherapy and several master and continuing education courses, for example in Educational Science and Cognitive Science. We also give several short courses and professional courses.
Research and research training at the Psychology Division cover a broad area, including basic and translational research and are situated in national and international networks.

Duties
A postdoctor should mainly carry our research. Teaching may also be carried out but must not exceed one fifth of working hours. Duties consist mainly of performing research within the ongoing research project ”Mechanisms and treatment of age-related hearing loss” and the focus of this position is on cognitive mechanisms. The most important task is to perform a study investigating whether cognitive training can lead to better hearing. Other duties include planning and carrying out your own research studies as well as analyzing cross-sectional and longitudinal data from existing databases.
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter. The holder of the position must demonstrate scientific skill in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Audiology, Hearing Science, Disability Science or a related area. The holder of the position must also demonstrate skill in quantitative methods and statistics. Evidence of skill in experimental design and implementation of training studies is particularly desirable. Documented programing skills are desirable along with documented skill in teaching scientific methods, Psychology, Cognitive Science or Disability Science.
Eligibility
For appointment to the position of postdoctor a PhD or equivalent is required that was obtained no more than three years before the end of the application period.
Period of employment
A postdoctor may be employed until further notice but for no more than two years. The position may be extended if there are special reasons.

By agreement.
