Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology, Umeå Postdoctor researcher in Plant Metabolomics SLU develops knowledge about natural resources as well as social systems - everything that lives and grows.At SLU we conduct research, teach and inform about the opportunities, and possible risks incurred, when using our forests, landscapes, soils and animals in different ways.SLU offers a broad spectrum of educational programmes and single subject courses.About 3 300 undergraduates and 800 postgraduate students are enrolled at SLU.A total of 3 000 people are employed at the University.Main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Ultuna and Umeå.Research and teaching activities are carried out throughout the country. www.slu.se We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in Metabolomics.The focus will be to study the Populus metabolome and identifying metabolic markers in relation to wood formation and dormancy in woody species.The applicant will work in close connection to the two centers, FuncFibre (www.funcfibre.se) and the Berzelii Center for Forest Biotechnology.The Metabolomics facility at UPSC (see UPSC home page) has a long experience in metabolomics analysis and is equipped with the latest technique in mass spectrometry.The applicant will work in an environment consisting of biologist, analytical chemists and experts in multivariate statistics.Umeå Plant Science Centre (UPSC) is a centre of experimental plant biology in Umeå.It was formed in 1999 by the Department of Forest Genetics and Plant Physiology, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and the Department of Plant Physiology, Umeå University (www.upsc.se).There are about 180 persons from 32 different countries working at UPSC.Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD degree or equivalent and a strong scientific background in mass spectrometry.Experience in metabolomics analysis is desirable.The position is full-time and will be granted for a period of two years, starting as soon as possible.
