Position at the Institute of Clinical Science


A postdoctoral position is available to conduct genomic and bioinformatic research for the EU project ComplexDis .The aim is to find markers for personalized medication based on DNA microarray studies of complex diseases.The project is a collaboration between seven European and one American group.Hay fever is used as a model of complex diseases.We seek an enthusiastic PhD with a background that combines molecular biology with bioinformatics.A large part of your work will be devoted to planning and analyzing DNA microarray data with programs like Ingenuity and Genomatix.The position also involves experimental validation studies in collaboration with other researchers.You will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden but some travelling related to the EU project will be required.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:
The position is available for one year (full time) from February 1, 2007, with possibility of another two years.

REQUIREMENTS:
* PhD in relevant subject area
* God knowledge of spoken and written English
* A medical background and/or international research experience is advantageous
